I have a theory. Its a theory about people and their music. I believe (at this point in time) that there are two general types of people when it comes to music appreciation.
Poets - People who love lyrics. They love music for what the musician says in the lyrics. These people love music for the messages musician’s weave into their songs. They appreciate music on an intellectual level, rather than an intuitive one.
Intuits - People who love sounds. They love music for the beats and rythmns. They may not always know the lyrics, especially what they actually mean. These people experience music vicerally, appreciating how the music makes them feel on an intuitive level, rather than an intellectual one.
